I have a variable DATE and another variable DURATION and another BEHAVIOUR. Behaviours captured are assign time duration values and a DATE value (day). Numerous BEHAVIOURS (n=40+) are captured per day. This creates a data set that generates a number of duration values associated with a particular DATE. The result Is reoccurring dates generated by each behaviour duration captured that day (approx. n. 40). Is there a way that SPSS can calculate the total durations for each DATE - day? This would require a function/process of grouping or splitting by DATE (day) and calculating (sum) the associated DURATIONS for this DATE (day). Any guidance greatly appreciated.
