Instruments for modifying output

Postby Pavel_SPSS » Mon Jul 13, 2015 7:34 pm

Hello!
I need to use SPSS output in Word reports. The best thing is to have all output as variables or arrays and do whatever I want with them - do additional calculations, draw figures, make tables etc...
As I understand, I can do it via Visual Basic (SPSS scripts) or Python (SPSS "plugin"). What are the best and easiest way to do such things ?
I have basic programming skills.

First, fine tune your syntax to get as close to the end results as possible.

Second, forget everything (especially SPSS scripting with SaxBasic (not VBA but related)) except for Python Scripting.

Last, see whether anybody has already written a tool that may be useful for you. An outstanding collection is freely available at http://www.spss-tutorials.com/tools/.
