SPSS help sorting A number of bar charts and displaying freq

Postby realnumbers » Thu Oct 04, 2012 12:58 pm

Hi, I have a rather large data set and am generating bar charts en mass. Dialogue box: http://i.imgur.com/1AZ9w.png

And this produces the following http://i.imgur.com/Ke438.png

However i require that the bars show percentage of a particular course (such as is law) by gender i.e. 70.6% of Males are not case in the above example. Any idea how i do this please?

Instead of "N of cases" at the top, pick "% of cases."

Can you post what you have? I put gender into "cluster by", then I put case into "category", and then I specified "% cases"... I got this graph.

The % was calculated by gender... as you have specified in your first post, 70.6% males in the non-case and the remaining in case. While 20 and 80% females are split into the case categories. This seems to fit what you want.

If not, hopefully someone else can help.

Hi,
thanks for the help,
here is my output. The problem lies that the data is being grouped by GHQ28[case/notcase] while i want that in each graph the 2 bars (i.e. 4 stacks) add up to 100%
