GLM within subjects to mixed design

Postby Ces4 » Mon Mar 07, 2016 3:42 am

Hi guys,

I'm fairly new to SPSS and have been encountering a syntax coding issue.

I have been trying to make a working General Linear Model (GLM) within-subjects design syntax script into a mixed design script such that the output provides statistics for within subjects factors but also examines group differences on these same factors.

Below is the working within subjects script that I have been using...

GLM EC_F3 EC_Fz EC_F4 EC_C3 EC_Cz EC_C4 EC_P3 EC_Pz EC_P4 EO_F3 EO_Fz EO_F4 EO_C3 EO_Cz EO_C4 EO_P3 EO_Pz EO_P4
/WSFACTOR= State 2 POLYNOMIAL Sag 3 POLYNOMIAL Lat 3 POLYNOMIAL
/METHOD=SSTYPE(3)
/EMMEANS=TABLES(OVERALL)
/PRINT=DESCRIPTIVE ETASQ
/CRITERIA=ALPHA(.05)
/WSDESIGN= State Sag Lat State*Sag State*Lat State*Sag*Lat.

I would like the new output to provide me with all this information but also examine group differences on these same factors. In the data, the groups are coded 1, 2.

I really appreciate any help anyone can provide here.

Thank you very much guys.

Cheers,

Ces.

Solved it... I think.

GLM EC_F3 EC_Fz EC_F4 EC_C3 EC_Cz EC_C4 EC_P3 EC_Pz EC_P4 EO_F3 EO_Fz EO_F4 EO_C3 EO_Cz EO_C4 EO_P3 EO_Pz EO_P4 BY Group
/WSFACTOR= State 2 POLYNOMIAL Sag 3 POLYNOMIAL Lat 3 POLYNOMIAL
/METHOD=SSTYPE(3)
/EMMEANS=TABLES(OVERALL)
/PRINT=DESCRIPTIVE ETASQ
/CRITERIA=ALPHA(.05)
/WSDESIGN= State Sag Lat State*Sag State*Lat State*Sag*Lat
/DESIGN= Group.

Cheers,

Ces.
