Select no empty cases in a string variable.

Postby souzacruz » Tue Oct 11, 2016 2:59 pm

Hello

Using a syntax recoding, assigns codes to a string variable to a new numeric variable. However, although the syntax is correct, some string values have not been recoded.

To best proceed, I need to identify the cases in which this occurred. For this need to identify where the source string variable is not empty (not empty variable A), and where it is empty in the variable B.

The syntaxes below failed

T1 = 1 IF (linseed <> SYSMIS) AND (LA = SYSMIS).

T1 = 1 IF (linseed ~ SYSMIS) AND (LA = SYSMIS).

Any suggestion?
