Moving variable to front

Postby jenna36 » Tue Mar 14, 2017 5:14 pm

I'm still new to SPSS Syntax and I have reordered variables in syntax often, but I need to move the ID variable which is in the back of the database to the very front. I know I can drag and drop that quite easily, but I want the process automated for the future. The /keep subcommand doesn't seem like it would be used here because I don't want any variables before the ID variable, but I don't know how else to reorder variables in syntax and I can't find anything online.

You have to use save with keep and then order the variables in the way you want. Remember that you can use TO in variable lists
