hello, I have a large spps database, and I want to permanently do my analysis, by excluding a certain case for a variable. more particularly, I have 'pregnowb' variable and I want to exclude the case=1 (and leave the five others). how can I do that?

Go to Data > Select Cases and apply your selection criteria. Before clicking OK, check the bix "Delete Unselected Cases".

Notice that this will eliminate the cases for good. Save a backup somewhere before doin this to avoid data loss.

Hello - using V20 on a MAC OSX

Like Penny above, I want to exclude just one value from within a variable. My variable however, has 25 different values. Rather than selecting FOR all of these values except the one I don't want (which is very time consuming), is there another (faster) way that I can select to exclude the one undesired value?

So... let me clarify... suppose you have a variable called VarX. VarX has 25 possible values (say, 1 through 25), and you will only want to exclude one of those, for instance, number 10. Is this correct?
