How many cases at a given time?

Postby nessie » Fri Oct 18, 2013 7:06 am

I have a dataset with aproximatley 19 000 individual cases (patient stays), spread over a year. They all have a start and stop date on the form "dd-mmm-yyyy hh:mm". I want to know how many patients that where present at a given time intervall each day.

The purpose is to generate an overview over mean number of patients present for each hour interval (00:00-00:59/01:00-01:59/....../23:00-23:59) divided in to days (monday to sunday) for the whole year (a 24 x 7 table). If it's possible to identify how many patients present at an exact hour on an exacte date, that will be a bonus.

See the attached example file.

I hope somebody is able to help me with this. If I have been unclear in how I presentet my question, please give me a notice.
