How to restructure cases of a variable into separate variables (across the top)

Postby flewish » Wed Jan 20, 2016 10:44 am

Hi there,

I have opened some data on to spss which appears like this below.

How do i change the format such that all cases of 'Question' (V2) go across the top and become variables? So that way I would have "v1= ID, v2= q1, v3= q2.... v58= q57" and each line would represent one case. as opposed to the one case being in blocks of 57 lines. And then the respective response score underneath.

Its very extensive data so doing it manually would take years.

Thanks guys, any help is much appreciated.
