Compare scales with a different number of items

Postby anneleen » Thu Jun 16, 2016 1:50 pm

I'm working on my disertation.
I created 6 scales, with sumscores of several items. No scale has the same amount of items.
The sumscores (and means) of the scales with more items in it are higher than the sumscores of the scales with fewer items.
Now I want to see if there are differences between the scores on these scales with an ANOVA.
Is this possible? Do I have to give a "weight" to every scale so that the means are equal?
I don't know what to do... I hope someone can help me!

Thanks!
