Urgent help needed: Creating a new specialised correlate variable

Postby Snugg » Thu Aug 04, 2016 12:43 pm

Dear SPSS-experts, I'm a student that needs urgent help with the data-analysis of my master dissertation.

I've conducted a survey among 150 participants. One of the questionnaires I used in my survey consists of 180 items (and 180 variables), which are all scores on a 5-point Likert scale.

I must create a new variable that shows the correlation between:
- the average response across all participants on those 180 items
- one participant's response

... in order to get an idea how closely one specific participant's response pattern resembles the response pattern of the average/mean/typical participant. I'm clueless as how to do this, and I can't find any help online with it. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Snugg
