How to deal with "No Opinion" answers?

Postby benjohnson » Wed Feb 03, 2016 8:24 am

Hi,

In my survey, I have some questions in Likert scale (-2 to +2) and a "No Opinion" option in the end. For some variables, there are around 10% of "No Opinion" answers.

How can I deal with this answers? Should I impute them?

Thanks in advanced.

IMHO input ALL data then make a decision how such information is used, and yes, No Opinion is information.

Look into (and no order of preference) Setting as Missing, Display as Usual in the tables, Don'r display in the tables but report, ..........

And ....................

I can do so with descriptive statistics, but to analyse them, I have to give them a value (between -2 to +2) or omit them which means I will loose around 10% of my data!

Give them a value of 9, e.g. outside the 'normal range'
