calculating total scale scores

Postby Nomo » Sat Mar 03, 2012 9:15 pm

Maybe someone is able to help me?

I just added my items up and divided the total scale score by the number of items in the scale.

Inorder to check my new variable I run descriptives.

unfortunately Min and Max are not decimal. For example the response scale is from 1 to 5. But in my new variable Min is 1.23 Max is 3.85??? can this be right? could this be because I added all items together and divided them?

Thank u for your help :D
