Bidirectional error plot

Postby Anthro » Sun Feb 11, 2018 11:16 pm

I am doing a metadata analysis comparing several different groups, and would like to create a bivariable plot of with error bars or whiskers for each of the groups, to show the range of data seen in each of the groups. The output would have several crosshairs or "+" for each group, with one direction being the error bars (or IQR, 2SD range, etc) for variable A on the x axis and the other line indicating the error bar for variable B on the Y axis. Ideally there would be a dot in the intersection of the two lines indicating the mean for each variable. I also would like to overlay a scatterplot of individual cases found in my test population to see where they fall compared to the other groups.

I have included some examples of what I am looking for.

Is this possible in SPSS? If not, would anyone have any suggestions for a stats program that may be able to do this?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
