how do I use my manipulation check questions to check validity of respondents

Postby Eline_0106 » Thu Jul 06, 2017 6:15 pm

Hi,

My research consistst out of an experiment.
The model is as followed:

CSR perceptions ------> Job pursuit intentions
with a moderator: moral identity

to measure CSR perceptions, I've made 4 scenario's: CSR community relations high, CSR community relations low, CSR environmental treatment high, CSR environmental treatment low. Each respondent randomly got assigned one scenario.
Since a scenario/experiment can either have CSR in it or not, I've made 4 dummies out of the scenarios.
Within my questionnaire, I've also added 4 manipulation check questions (2 regarding community relations and 2 regarding environmental treatment) on a 7 point likert scale.
Now I want to use the manipulation check questions to find out if the respondents read the scenario correctly, and therefore use it to take out respondents who answered the questions wrongly compared to the scenario they got to see.

Can anyone help me out with what test I have to do in SPSS and what steps I have to take?

Thanks a million!!
