Hello everyone,

i'm total noob to SPSS and have several questions any short answer helps So if you know one of the three a short reply would be welcome

1) I recoded a variable to get those ranges - but SPSS doesn't let me create more than 8 different ranges is that correct? Since I have a large data set I wanted like 50 ranges (25 below 0, and 25 over 0) is that not possible in a graph?

2) This is propably a dumb question, but i couldn't find it: I want to define ranges (like from 0 to 0,179....) and then let let SPSS counts the number of observations withing the defined ranges (or percentage) and then print me a table in the Style Range1: 178 observ, Range2: 104 Obs..... HOw do i do this?

3) Difficult one:I try to make a histrogram, that with a variable that has ranges. So i recoded a variable, that the one range= one standard deviation in the data. so i have 8 ranges. the most left range starts at -4 stdev goes to -3...till -1 stdev goes to 0 and then the right site first range starts at 0 and goes to +1 stdev.... The problem with this is now that SPPS has now a "gap" at 0. It looks like that:

I know i could change the ranges that it propably help. But i would like to keep the ranges since the have a meaning (from 0 to +1 stdev, from 0 to -1stdev) but i would like SPSS to move the bars "in the middle" so that there is no gap

Big thank you people!
