assess: how a change in IV predicts DV over time

Postby kea1011 » Wed Sep 17, 2014 10:37 pm

this is my research question:
how is change in neuropsychological test scores from Time 1 to Time 2 associated with driving status at Time 2?

IVs are continuous (but some on a scale of 1-10, some on scale of 1-300). DV is binary (yes/no).

the question is exploratory at this point and my committee is interested only in 'descriptives'. Their concern is that i will not be able to do any predictive analysis because my numbers for driving at T2 are small (N=127).

so i know i need to find a change in each neuropsych score. what would be my best strategy? create z scores for each test so they are comparable? then subtract the means? and then assess associations between mean differences and my DV?

(and how obvious is it that i have NO idea what i am talking about??)

thanks for any guidance!
