How to analyse categorical data one group two time levels

Postby lh1988 » Fri Jan 30, 2015 2:20 pm

Hey everyone.
I need help analysing some statistics in SPSS. I have categorical data (with 4 possible outcomes). The data is from one group of people at two time points (so I guess it is repeated measures data). I have spent hours looking everywhere for a test to do but cannot find a statistical test to tell me if the outcomes are significantly different from time 1 to time 2. A chi-square test seemed like a possible answer but the groups are not independent samples as I said it is just one group at 2 time points ( a few months apart). There is something like the McNemar Test but that is only for dichotomous/binary variables and my variable has 4 possible outcomes. PLEASE HELP!
Thank you.
