A stands for Abscess and N for Neoplasm which both occur in liver

adc is apparent diffusion coefficient in core

adcw is apparent diffusion coefficient in the wall

adce is apparent diffusion coefficient in edema

The study I have conducted is to prove that A is better visualized by these 3 rather than N

still don't really get your hypothesis, what do you mean by visualized?

In your dataset, I see you have 4 variables that might be of importance to your question:

adc: scale

adcw: scale

adce: scale

histo: dichotomous, either N or A (groups?)

so do you want to know whether adc, adcw and adce have different means for group N and A or what?

Thanx for your time gutnre. I figured it out myself. I was doing it the wrong way. What I wanted was to compare the mean of adc adcw and adce in N vs A so that I could prove that in which type of tissue is the diffusion coefficient is significant.

so you went with anova I assume?

Yep I did choose ANOVA
