Please help how do I analyse the data

Postby drgenetix » Tue Oct 18, 2011 11:08 am

Dear All

Please help me find out some way to analyse the data in the attached spss file. I want to compare N (Neoplasm) vs A (Abscess) the three values being adc, adce and adcw.

1. homework?
2. what do you want to do, "analyze" is a rather broad term

No no not homework. I am too old for that :)

A has 3 values adc, adce and adcw
N has 3 values adc, adce and adcw

I want to compare values of A with N

A stands for Abscess and N for Neoplasm which both occur in liver

adc is apparent diffusion coefficient in core
adcw is apparent diffusion coefficient in the wall
adce is apparent diffusion coefficient in edema

The study I have conducted is to prove that A is better visualized by these 3 rather than N

still don't really get your hypothesis, what do you mean by visualized?
In your dataset, I see you have 4 variables that might be of importance to your question:

adc: scale
adcw: scale
adce: scale
histo: dichotomous, either N or A (groups?)

so do you want to know whether adc, adcw and adce have different means for group N and A or what?

Thanx for your time gutnre. I figured it out myself. I was doing it the wrong way. What I wanted was to compare the mean of adc adcw and adce in N vs A so that I could prove that in which type of tissue is the diffusion coefficient is significant.

Yep I did choose ANOVA

This is a good forum. I am happy to be so readily answered. I am looking forward to getting more help from here and I will be glad if I could be of any assistance to anyone over here :)
