Fixed X regression

Postby dwylie » Wed Nov 16, 2011 1:28 am

Hi

I have a data set that I want to fit a regression line to.

Over the course of 5 years I sampled vegetation on 8 plots. I additionally have the rainfall totals for whole area (where the 8 plots are located at) for the 5 years. My goal is to be able to show some type of correlation between the amount of vegetation and precipitation. I am thinking this should be able to be done with regression. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

So then you are simply trying the determine is a correlation exist - No difference in the plots (e.g., a split-plot design where each plot is a different sub-sample)?

Statman

Yes that is correct...just regular linear regression perhaps? Although that worries me since n=5 for the years of precip data. Thoughts?

If case count is 5 then LR isn't prudent

Check into a simple nonparametric test
