Split file / International study

Postby Stripes » Wed May 16, 2012 8:13 pm

Hello, I'm new here and I hope I can get some help.

I have a database with 60 countries and I'm making a study about economic, health etc situation in different nations. This study should reveal the 'big picture' of economy, health in the world, so I made a new variable 'Regions' and I grouped the countries in 10 regions/continents. The I split the file by Regions, nut when I run any analysis, this warning appears:
"The file is not sorted in a consistent manner on the split file variables. It is likely that any procedure output will be incorrect".

My questions are:
1. Is this because the valid answers differ so much in the groups? (1000 vs. 5000), because some regions have 1 or 2 countries and others have more than 5? If that's the problem, what can I do? Should I reduce the number of countries in some regions?

2. There is an other way I can work with this database?

3. This kind of study can only be comparative, right?

Thanks!

is there a category specified that is not present in your study? (e.g., country eleven "france" is just not there)?

Please provide syntax and exact error mesage including additional error messages etc.
