statistical check for linear trend in SPSS?

Postby shruti » Tue Sep 25, 2012 5:12 pm

How do I statistically check for linear trend in my data? Is there an easy option in SPSS? Should I include raw data or just the mean values in the input sheet? I am fairly new to SPSS and would appreciate some guidance.
Thanks

Not sure what exactly is included in "checking linear trend".

If just want to check linearity, you can use scatter plot and Pearson correlation. See here:

If want to get the intercept and slope and test if they are statistical significant, use linear regression.
