Where can I calculate the mean of data’s part?

Postby Gilgamesh » Tue May 26, 2015 6:07 pm

Good day :)
Here in SPSS I have got some numbers (1,2,3,4,5,6) and I need to calculate the mean and standard deviation for some numbers only (1,2,3), how can I do it? Can “Analyze-Compare means-Means” do this?

please indicate how you would like spss to know what numbers to calcualte the mean on.
is it actually the first three lines, or is it something different?

in any case, if you have a variable indicating which numbers should count (e.g., a 1 for "use this line" and a 0 for "do not use this line"), you can use the aggregate function.
