Obtaining info from only one row of large dataset

Postby ae.sakura » Wed Apr 09, 2014 1:28 am

Hi, I have a SPSS file with 440 rows (each representing a U.S. county), and 14 variables (demographic info about the counties). I need to do a project which includes constructing a scatter plot, reporting various values, obtaining a 90% confidence interval, preparing a residual plot against X and a normal probability plot) based on any ONE row.

My question is, how do I single out just one row? I'm a beginner with SPSS and have no idea how to obtain these answers based on only one row as opposed to the entire dataset. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

if you have a variable identifying that row, you can use select cases -> if condition is satisfied
