what test to use to test my data in SPSS?

Postby gvashka » Sun Jul 19, 2015 1:30 pm

Hi everyone,

I'd very glad if you could help me with my data testing.

I need to study the difference between the three groups. All three groups assessed 80 individual sentences (1=Correct and 0=Incorrect). Now what I need to find out is whether there is any statistically significant difference between the performance of these three groups.

I ran one-way ANOVA with GROUPS as factor, and 80 individual sentences as dependent. I found that out of these 80 sentences, only 8 sentences have p>0.05 (i.e. the difference is statistically significant). So I performed follow-up Post Hoc test just for these 8 sentences to see how groups differed.

But is there any possible way to compare the performance of the three groups on two different types of individual sentences (40 sentences (type 1) and 40 sentences (type 2)) and get ONE separate p-value for it?

I don't know if I make myself clear.....

Any help will be really appreciated!

are you interested in the 80 individual sentences? if not, I would just compute a variable like "total correct" or something comparable, and do analyses on that.
