AGGREGATE - Help!

Postby Daniellc » Sat Sep 05, 2015 8:07 pm

Hello, Guys!
First of all, sorry for any mistake in my english, I'm an intermediate speaker.
Well my problem is this:
I have two variables, one is a code of a School and the other is a Nominal variable (1=Elementary School; 2=High School, for example)
So, this is how it looks like:

School_Code----------Student_Level
S100------------------------1
S100------------------------1
S100------------------------2
S100------------------------2
S100------------------------2
Y200------------------------1
Y200------------------------2
Y200------------------------2

Well, I want aggregate it by School_code, but I don't want to create a mean or a sum of Student_Level. And more, I want to create a variable with the frequency.
For example:
AGGREGATE:

School_Code_Aggregate---------------Student_Level_Aggregate-----Frequency
S100-----------------------------------------------1---------------------------2
S100-----------------------------------------------2---------------------------3
Y200-----------------------------------------------1---------------------------1
Y200-----------------------------------------------2---------------------------2

Plz, I need too much help. I'm working in a base with more than 2 Millions cases and 10.000 different schools.

I've searched here in forum, but I didn't find nothing.

Thx!

I would do this in 3 steps:

Fist use aggregate - N, to create this frequency variable.
then use "identify duplicate cases" to identify the school / student level variables that are in there more than once
then use select cases to filter out only unique school / student levels.
