Beginner: Exclude individuals missing one or more of a set

Postby CalculateRegion » Thu Sep 10, 2015 2:44 pm

Hello-
I use SPSS for only very basic analysis of a large survey, so I add variables, transform them, and run crosstabs.

I want to add a set of 6 variables (survey questions using a Likert scale), and transform them into another scale, but I only want to include those individual respondents who answered each of the 6. How do i exclude those who answered 5 or fewer?

I know this is a basic question, but your responses will be super helpful to me.

In case anyone else out there has had this issue, here is the syntax I ended up using:

NewScale=SUM.6(X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6).

Very easy!
