I'm doing a cross cultural study on the effects culture has on risk tolerance. I have been having difficulties figuring the following out:
For the dependent variable I intent to use results from a modified version of the Holt & Lauri investment task (see attachment). The task is rather simple and participants have to choose between safe bets and risky bets for any given level of risk. What matters here is the switching point and expected return. There are 9 options to choose from and depending on where you switch you are classified as: 1 to 4 (incl.) = risk seeking; 5 = risk neutral (expected return option A = expected return option B) and 6 to 9 = risk averse. Basically, I have 3 different categories that construct my dependent variable. Here comes the problem, how do I feed this to SPSS ? I know how to do binary regression but this does me no good for more than 2 categories ......
Thanks in advance !
