Contingency tables/adjusted residuals - how to get combined table

Postby jusen » Wed Apr 13, 2016 8:49 am

Hi,

I got reviews back on a paper. In the paper, I have a table. Each row in the table represents a context (category) and each column contains counts of things in the context. There are 9 rows and 7 columns in the table. My reviewer suggests that I analyse this table "using contingency table statistical procedures such as adjusted residuals in SPSS". The reviewer then shows an example of what s/he wants to see. The example consists of a table like mine, with the same labels for rows and categories as mine. Each cell in the table has a value, presumably calculated from my original table. Yet, when I try to do crosstabs in SPSS, I get one table for each column of the original table. Can someone please explain to me how I can replicate the table produced by the reviewer?

Thanks.
