Summarizing Likert Scales

Postby andre-mltr » Sat May 27, 2017 12:17 pm

Hi Everybody,

sorry in advance for my English, but I'll do my best. :)

For my studies I have to analyse a survey about an app. One question in this survey is "How important are the following advantages for you?" and then there are 5 advantages with 4 options: very important (=3), important (=2), less important (=1) and not important (=0).

So I got a table looking like that:

advantage1;advantage2;advantage3
.;.;.
3;0;1
2;1;1
.;.;.
0;0;3
et cetera

I wanted as a result a table with the advantages in the rows, the "level of importants" in the columns and the sum or the median of the values in the cells. But I have no idea how to do that! I tried to define Variable Sets, but that didn't worked well. I'm sure there is somewhere the answer in this Forum or in a different Forum or Blog, but I couldn't find it here or with google, maybe because I don't know the right terms for what I am trying to do... So I would be very grateful, if someone could give me a description, a hint or just a link for a beginner.

Greetings
Andre
