Hi everyone,

I have to do an analysis and I have no idea where to proceed. I have cases and controls and I am running a multinomial regression to compare cases and controls based on 3 genotypes (genotype is the dependent variable). This analysis works fine.

BUT: some of my cases are related family members, so I need to control for this somehow. I have unique ID numbers for every individual. I also have family ID numbers (most people are from different families but there are some people who are part of a family, thus have the same family number). My prof says use a 'cluster' or 'robust' analysis to account for this but I have no idea how to do this.

I'm truly lost and would be SO grateful if someone could help out... I'll even throw in a Amazon.com gift card if someone helps me figure it out!

I'm using SPSS 20 and Windows XP.

If you don't know how then why are you - Sorry to be frank but your situation illustrates the reason our clients have reason to distrust professionals in our business

Seek out a consult. The cost will be well worth it

I don't understand what you're trying to say. I just wanted some guidance, I've been trying to figure this out for days. I'm just not up to date with every feature of SPSS is all and I've been giving a solid effort.
